ILMEA District 9 Orchestra

I.L.M.E.A. (Illinois Music Educators Association) is an organization that is committed to providing students with opportunities to perform with other students from across their ILMEA district and across the state. Students who wish to perform in the ILMEA Festival held annually in November are required to audition in October each year. Students who are interested should practice the required audition music over the summer.

Auditions to make the Festival are highly competitive, and we encourage our students to seek additional help from their orchestra teacher or private instructor. Students taking orchestra for a weighted grade are required to audition for ILMEA Music Festival or comparable experience at the discretion of the director. This requires a pre-screening by music directors using the C.U.S.D. #115 performance rubric. Check with your director for Pre-Screen sign-up information.
